Ruby-based framework

By Vignesh Prasad, Principal Product Designer at Ebury

Decko , a web development framework that creates sophisticated web systems out of wiki-inspired building blocks called “cards”. Decko can be used to develop open community sites, private knowledge management sites, public proposal submission sites with private back-ends for review, project management systems, wikis, blogs, journals, forums, and more. A descendant of Ruby-on-Rails, Decko is distributed as a Ruby gem.

My contribution (2014 - 2018)

Decko is an open-source project that extends ruby-rails into a sophisticated wiki framework. It has many practical features such as a web-based UI editor, version history, UI based query generator, interactive developer console for mod creations, etc.

During my period at the psychometrics centre, the University of Cambridge, I was heavily involved and contributed to developing this framework.

I mainly focused on UX design for this project, and occasionally, I implemented some of the UI design myself. Primary users are Ruby developers, data researchers and students.
